2010 Lasseter Rose
2009 Rose', Estate, Sonoma Valley
The Lasseters love the dry rose' wines of Provence and Bandol; but so few wineries in the United States produce wines in this style. Their solution was to craft their own dry rose' blend of estate grown Syrah, Mourvedre and Grenache grapes, resulting in a wine that has a delicate salmon-pink color, with an aroma showing distinct notes of strawberries and a touch of ruby grapefruit and mango. On first sip, the interplay of fruit continues. The wine's texture is supple, balanced with lively acidity and a long, lingering finish. It may be lighter than red wine; but when boldly paired with food, even the most skeptical red wine drinker will be seduced by this wine. Quite simply, it is a refreshing taste of summer and sunshine.
